OPENING CEREMONY UEFA EURO 2024
Large-Scale PerformanceMurmuration is a choreographic concept developed by Sadeck Waff, known for its hypnotic precision and geometric synchronicity. Inspired by the fluid, collective motion of bird flocks, the piece brings together large groups of dancers to create intricate patterns through isolated arm and upper body movements, performed in perfect unison. Murmuration was performed in front of 50.000 people at the opening ceremony of UEFA Euro 2024 in Berlin. The performance took place at the iconic Brandenburg Gate, marking the start of the football tournament with a striking visual statement of unity and rhythm. Presented as part of the Fußballkultursommer cultural programme, the piece gathered 40 dancers from across Europe.
